What it is

A local app for two people who each run a media server and want to know what the other has. You each point MediaComparr at your own library. One of you exports a small file, the other imports it, and both see the same three piles on a poster wall: what you both have, what only you have, what only they have.

What it does

  • Reads Radarr, Sonarr, Plex, Jellyfin, Emby and Media-Hoarder, merged by TMDB, TVDB and IMDB id so a film in two sources counts once
  • Exports a .mcz file of keyed hashes only: no titles, ids, paths, hostnames or names
  • The hashes are keyed by a pair code the two of you agree on separately; without it the file is unreadable
  • Shows 'Theirs only' titles with posters resolved through your own Radarr and Sonarr
  • Adds marked titles to Radarr or Sonarr in one confirmed batch
  • Sends a reply file with what you marked, so the other side sees what you asked for
  • Never deletes anything, never stores the pair code, and never logs keys or tokens

Who it's for

Friends who each keep a self-hosted movie and TV library and want to trade picks without sharing a full inventory.

How it's built

Python standard library only, Python 3.9 or newer, no build step. It shares its source adapters, config discovery and poster wall with Cullr. A test tool serves stand-in Radarr and Sonarr instances so both ends of the exchange can be tried on one machine.

Where it is

In development. The source is not public yet.
